Missing the human factor in AI discussions

People who extort or decry artificial intelligence paint rosy or doomsday scenarios but don't take into account the most powerfully driver of change, human nature. They see things through a transactional filter and forget what makes us human, compassion, community and unity. This is what holds people together and when these qualities diminish, a society denigrates into chaos and falls apart. It's happened to empire after empire for millennia and each generation is convinced it can't happen to them, and discover it can and does.
